I only used one painted texture (a mask for the ends of the banana); the rest is procedural. All the materials and rendering were done in Houdini Mantra, and any edits to the mesh were done in Blender. I modified the mesh and UVs from a banana model by monomorph (https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/44482), many thanks to him. The concept was created in Photoshop. This student project was finished in about two months.
